General Warranty Terms and Conditions:
-
The Australian Competition and Consumer Act (2010) (including the Australian Consumer Law), along with other laws in Australia, ensure certain conditions, warranties, and undertakings and bestows upon you additional legal rights regarding the quality and suitability for use of products of Welding Guns of Australia Pty Ltd ABN 001 804 422, trading as UNIMIG (UNIMIG), sold within Australia.
-
In Australia, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality, and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
-
Nothing in this warranty intends to alter or exclude the conditions, warranties, and undertakings, as well as other legal rights, under the Australian Competition and Consumer Act and other applicable Australian legislation. This warranty offers you supplementary protection for your UNIMIG product and outlines a preferred method for addressing warranty claims, which aims to be the most efficient and straightforward for all involved parties, subject to the exclusions, terms, and conditions set out in this warranty.
-
Any warranties or conditions which are not guaranteed under the Australian Competition and Consumer Act (2010) or provided under this warranty are expressly excluded. This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales and Australia and the parties to the warranty are subject to that jurisdiction.
-
No employee or representative of UNIMIG is authorised to alter this warranty in any manner, ensuring consistency and reliability in our warranty policy.
-
These warranty terms and conditions dated 30 February 2025 supersede all previously issued warranties and publications by UNIMIG, offering a clear and updated framework for our warranty policy. These warranty terms may be updated or amended from time to time. The latest warranty terms may be found at UNIMIG’s website at www.unimig.com.au
-
The warranty coverage commences from the date of purchase and does not reset following any repair services. A 12-month protection guarantee covers any replaced parts, ensuring peace of mind.
Warranty Eligibility
-
The warranty is linked to the product's serial number, making it transferable across ownership changes; however, extended warranties remain non-transferable.
-
Proof of purchase, defined as a distributor or retailer-issued invoice or receipt that clearly shows the purchase date and product description, is mandatory for any warranty claims. Without this, the product is not eligible for this warranty.
-
Registration within 30 days is encouraged but not mandatory for warranty validity, as failing to register does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. In such cases, the 'Normal Warranty Period' as outlined in these terms and conditions will be applicable.
-
Upon registering a product purchase, customers consent to receive promotional communications from UNIMIG. These communications can be discontinued at any moment by opting out.
Claim Process and Benefits
-
Where the customer considers the product may be defective, he or she will make a claim with the selling retailer or directly with UNIMIG through its online claim process at www.unimig.com.au.
-
Once a claim has been processed and eligibility is confirmed, UNIMIG will arrange for the product to be delivered to a nominated UNIMIG Authorised Service Facility.
-
On receipt of the product at its service facility, UNIMIG will inspect the product and review the fault. If found to be defective and covered by the warranty UNIMIG will (at its absolute discretion) either (a) repair the product (b) or replace the product with an equivalent product.
-
Where the product is found to have a fault covered by this warranty then UNIMIG will responsible for the cost of delivery, or reimburse the customer for the costs of shipping if it has been incurred by the customer. The decision by UNIMIG relating to a claim under these terms will be final and binding and not subject to review.
-
Where the product is not covered by the warranty the customer will be informed as soon as practicable by UNIMIG. The product will then be returned at the cost of the customer and the customer will be required to reimburse UNIMIG for any delivery costs incurred. If the product may be repaired by UNIMIG, this option will be offered to the customer at the customer’s cost.
